Patricia Moran-Dunselman Named Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year in Bilingual Education
Santa Barbara, CA, August 20, 2007–Patricia Moran-Dunselman, Ph.D., ABD, bilingual educator for the Santa Barbara School District’s Peabody Charter School has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of bilingual education.
An appreciation for linguistic values and a love for language and literature prompted Moran-Dunselman to become involved in her field. With 43 years of experience in education, Moran-Dunselman has an impressive background in language instruction. As a bilingual educator at the Santa Barbara School District’s Peabody Charter School, she teaches English as a second language while overseeing Spanish language support in all academic content areas for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Santa Barbara School District’s Peabody Charter School provides general elementary curriculum as well as an English as a second language program. The school rounds out curriculum courses with physical education, fine arts and performing arts while offering a gifted and talented program.
Moran-Dunselman received her Ph.D., ABD, from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She holds a master of arts in Spanish from the University of California at Santa Barbara, conferred in 1969. She is a member of the California Elementary Education Association, the National Education Association and the California Association for Bilingual Education.
